Is it really beneficial to workout whilst pregnant?

 

In a recent study that we did, we found that 60% of those who engaged in the study exercised during their respective pregnancies, whilst 40% didn’t. Of those who said they didn’t exercise whilst pregnant, their main reasoning came down to either ‘exercise was not a priority’ AND/OR ‘a lack of guidance of what’s allowed/not’.

  1. Exercise makes you HAPPY. Exercise boosts levels of the neurotransmitter serotonin, a brain chemical linked to mood, putting you in better spirits.2. Mums who exercise sleep better, as exercise can assist in managing restlessness and disturbed sleep during pregnancy.

    3. Exercise can reduce pregnancy discomfort. Exercise can help manage back and pelvic pain and the additional strains as your belly grows

    4. Babies born to fit moms have a greater cardiovascular capacity themselves from the start

    5. Mums that exercise during pregnancy bounce back into shape much quicker post-baby
